The Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority (UCADA) has reviewed helicopter ticket bookings for Kedarnath and found that 1,087 tickets were booked through tour operators, while 6,148 tickets were directly booked by pilgrims.
According to UCADA’s Additional Chief Executive Officer, Dayanand Saraswati, bookings for helicopter services from May 2 to May 30 were opened on April 8 via the IRCTC portal. All slots were sold out within an hour of launch.
The analysis by UCADA revealed that a total of 23,176 pilgrims booked 10,244 helicopter tickets. Pilgrims from across various Indian states made bookings, along with five tickets purchased by international travelers.
