Ahead of President Droupadi Murmu’s visit to Dehradun, the Uttarakhand Police has intensified security arrangements. On Tuesday, senior officials conducted a comprehensive briefing of police personnel deployed for the event at the Police Lines.
ADG (Crime and Law & Order) Dr. V. Murugesan reviewed the security plans and directed officers to carry proper identification and duty cards at all times. He stressed strict screening at public entry and exit points using security equipment.
ADG (Intelligence) A.P. Anshuman instructed that no police personnel use mobile phones during duty hours or leave their assigned post without permission. Any negligence will lead to disciplinary action. Officers were also asked to properly brief all deployed personnel, both in uniform and plainclothes.
To ensure VVIP safety, Garhwal IG Rajeev Swaroop issued a drone ban in and around the event venue. He instructed officers to inspect the entire VVIP route in advance to ensure no construction material or obstruction is present.
SSP Ajay Singh said intensive checks will be carried out in Jolly Grant and surrounding areas to identify suspicious individuals. The focus remains on maintaining high vigilance and ensuring a seamless visit for the President.
