Dehradun. Vigilance officials on Tuesday arrested a junior engineer (JE) in Rishikesh while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 in connection with a tender payment related to Pashulok Barrage.
According to officials, the complainant had lodged a complaint on the vigilance toll-free number stating that he works as a contractor in a government department and had submitted a tender for work at Pashulok Barrage in Rishikesh. The complaint alleged that JE Faisal Khan was demanding a bribe in exchange for clearing the payment related to the tender work.

Following the complaint, the vigilance department formed a trap team and carried out the operation. The team allegedly caught accused Faisal Khan, son of Liaqat Hussain and resident of Katortaal in Kashipur, Udham Singh Nagar, red-handed while taking Rs 50,000 from the complainant.
