Prime Minister Narendra Modi has concluded his three-nation tour and departed from Croatia, marking the end of a significant diplomatic journey. His visit to Croatia became a historic milestone, being the first-ever visit by an Indian Prime Minister to the country.
The Ministry of External Affairs posted on X, calling the Croatia leg a landmark in Indo-Croatian relations. PM Modi was warmly received in Zagreb by Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković at the airport in a ceremonial welcome. During his stay, he interacted with the Indian diaspora and held high-level discussions with Croatian leaders.
In Zagreb, both leaders exchanged gifts and signed multiple agreements to strengthen bilateral cooperation. PM Modi expressed gratitude for the warm reception and highlighted the importance of growing Indo-Croatian and India–EU relations. He also met Croatian President Zoran Milanović.
Foreign Secretary (West) Tanmay Lal noted that this visit symbolizes the growing momentum in India–Croatia ties and showcases India’s expanding engagement with Central and Eastern European nations.
PM Modi’s tour began with a stop in Cyprus, followed by participation in the G7 Summit in Canada, and concluded with his official visit to Croatia.
