States Directed to Identify and Deport Pakistani Nationals, Says Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has directed all state chief ministers to identify Pakistani nationals residing in India and ensure their immediate deportation. In a recent communication, Shah emphasized that no Pakistani citizen should remain in the country beyond their visa validity. The Centre has already announced that visas issued to Pakistani citizens will be revoked effective April 27.

States have been instructed to closely monitor Pakistani nationals living within their jurisdiction and facilitate their return at the earliest. Additionally, Indian citizens residing in Pakistan have been advised to return home promptly.

This directive comes in the wake of the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, which claimed 26 lives. The National Human Rights Commission has also condemned the attack.
