Surya Devbhoomi Challenge 2.0 Sees 300+ Runners Conquer 113 km Ultra Trail

The Surya Devbhoomi Challenge 2.0, a 113 km ultra trail run, was successfully आयोजित between April 17 and April 20, 2026, drawing participation from over 300 runners from across India. Organized by the Indian Army’s Garhwal Scouts, the event tested endurance, strength, and resilience across challenging Himalayan terrain.

The race was conducted over three days, covering 36 km on the first day, 38 km on the second day, and 39 km on the final day. Participants traversed scenic yet demanding routes, combining athletic challenge with spiritual experience.

During the event, runners visited key religious sites including Badrinath Temple, Banshi Narayan Temple, and the revered Panch Kedar shrines—Kalpeshwar, Rudranath, and Tungnath—adding a unique spiritual dimension to the competition.

Kalam Singh Bisht, founder of the MUNDOLI Riders Club, secured first position and also topped his age category. He was awarded a cash prize of ₹1,25,000 for his performance.

Adding to the achievement, his wife Pushpa Devi also successfully completed the entire 113 km run over three days.
