Mahak Chauhan, a resident of Bhadashu Gudgad Mori village in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand, has made her way into the Indian rugby team for the Asia Rugby Under-18 Championship. The championship is set to take place in Johor, Malaysia, on September 28 and 29, 2024. Out of the 12 girls selected from across India, Mahak is the proud representative from Uttarakhand.
Ayush Saini, the Treasurer and Coach of the Uttarakhand Rugby Association, shared that Mahak had previously attended an India camp but didn’t achieve success at that time. However, this time around, Mahak has made it to the national team. Her journey began in Roorkee, where she took her initial steps in rugby, unaware that she would one day reach the international stage.

Mahak Chauhan is currently studying in Class 12 at Saiges Academy International School, residing in Raipur, Dehradun. Her father, Arvind Chauhan, is a government school teacher. Mahak’s achievement has brought pride not only to her family but to the entire region of Uttarakhand. The Treasurer and Coach, Ayush Saini, along with Secretary Yashwant Singh and Fitness Trainer Akash Singh, extended their congratulations to Mahak on this monumental achievement.
