Prime Minister Narendra Modi will distribute more than 65 lakh property cards on January 18 under the SVAMITVA Scheme. The distribution will benefit property owners across 50,000 villages and 230 districts from 10 states and 2 Union Territories. The event will be conducted via video conferencing at 12:30 PM.
Key Highlights of the SVAMITVA Scheme:
- Objective: To boost economic progress in rural India by reducing property disputes, facilitating property monetization, enabling bank loans, and assisting village-level planning.
- Technology: Drone-based surveys have been conducted in 3.17 lakh villages, and 2.25 crore property cards have been prepared in 1.53 lakh villages.
- Implementation Status: Fully operational in Puducherry, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Tripura, Goa, Uttarakhand, and Haryana, with surveys completed in states like Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh.
