The total number of registrations for the Chardham Yatra has now surpassed 31 lakh, with a significant surge in offline applications. On May 22 alone, more than 27,000 pilgrims registered through the offline mode, marking the highest single-day count so far.
Due to all online registration slots for May and June being fully booked, devotees are increasingly turning to offline registration. The Uttarakhand government has made registration mandatory for all pilgrims undertaking the Chardham Yatra. The Tourism Department had started the online registration on March 20, which saw a massive response.
To facilitate devotees, offline registration counters were opened on April 28 at Haridwar, Rishikesh, Herbertpur, and Nayagaon Vikasnagar. According to Yogendra Gangwar, the nodal officer for Chardham Yatra registration, the number of offline applications is expected to rise further in the coming days. So far, over 12 lakh registered pilgrims have completed the darshan at the Chardham shrines. Authorities have ensured adequate arrangements to make the registration process smooth and accessible for all.
