Kailash Mansarovar Yatra to Resume from June 30 After 3-Year Hiatus

After a three-year break due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the sacred Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is set to resume from June 30, 2025. The pilgrimage will be jointly managed by the Uttarakhand government and the Ministry of External Affairs. The revival of the yatra comes under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Adi Kailash initiative and the efforts of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.

During a meeting held in New Delhi, the Ministry of External Affairs finalised guidelines for the yatra. The Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam has been assigned to manage the journey. The first group will depart for China through Lipulekh Pass on July 10, and the last batch will return to India on August 22.

A total of five batches, each comprising 50 pilgrims, will undertake the 22-day journey. The route will begin in Delhi and pass through Tanakpur, Dharchula, Gunji, and Nabidang before reaching Taklakot in China. The return journey will cover Bundi, Chaukori, and Almora before arriving back in Delhi.

All pilgrims will undergo medical check-ups in Delhi and Gunji with assistance from the ITBP to ensure fitness for the high-altitude trek.
